Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Infrastructure Team Lead to oversee and optimize a secure, hybrid IT environment supporting both commercial and government maritime operations. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical leader with deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure management and a strong understanding of compliance frameworks such as CMMC Level 2, NIST 800‑171, and STIG.
This role combines technical depth, operational leadership, and compliance discipline to ensure the performance, reliability, and security of mission‑critical systems across multiple maritime and enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing infrastructure engineering team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Oversee day‑to‑day operations of Windows Server, Linux (OEL/RHEL), VMware, Hyper‑V, and NetApp storage platforms across on‑premise and hybrid cloud environments.
Ensure infrastructure security and compliance with NIST 800‑171, STIG, and CMMC Level 2 requirements.
Partner with cybersecurity and network teams to maintain system hardening, patching, and vulnerability management.
Design and implement scalable, compliant solutions for both classified and unclassified maritime systems.
Coordinate and lead infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery planning, backup testing, and capacity management initiatives.
Collaborate with application, database, and network teams to optimize performance and ensure high availability across distributed environments.
Create and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation, SOPs, automation scripts, and configuration baselines to ensure standardization.
Serve as the technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and performance issues.
Champion best practices for infrastructure automation, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Experience
10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure engineering or administration.
3+ years of experience in a leadership, team lead, or senior engineering capacity.
Technical Expertise
Advanced knowledge of Linux (OEL/RHEL) system administration.
Expertise in VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V virtualization environments.
Hands‑on experience with NetApp SAN/NAS storage, replication, and snapshot technologies.
Strong background in Windows Server (2016–2022) and Active Directory design and management.
Exposure to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments (preferred).
Understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls).
Familiarity with Azure or other public cloud platforms (preferred).
Compliance Knowledge
Practical experience working within environments governed by NIST 800‑171, STIG, and CMMC standards.
Strong understanding of secure system configuration and compliance auditing processes.
Preferred Certifications
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent security certification
