Overview Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a world leader in advanced aerospace and defense solutions. As part of the Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering Team within the Avionics business, the Hardware Systems Engineer will support next‑generation Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems and existing fielded systems.
What You Will Do
Identify potential replacement hardware candidates, conduct trade studies, and select the device that best meets the requirements.
Perform preliminary and detailed design activities.
Conduct lab testing for Engineering Change Proposals, including device‑level bench tests and system integration tests.
Interface with Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to support product development.
Qualifications You Must Have
Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
Experience completing technical documentation for Configuration Control, Change Management, Trade Studies, and design artifacts.
Experience writing detailed verification test plans and test reports.
Experience collaborating in a multi‑functional environment (field engineering, supply chain, suppliers, customers).
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience designing with and selecting COTS devices.
Knowledge of Linux and/or Solaris operating systems.
