Solution Area Specialist Manager
with knowledge of Cloud & Artificial Intelligence (AI) — comprising Data & AI, Digital Application and Innovation, and Azure Infrastructure — and deep industry and Microsoft solution understanding. The role will lead a team, driving and orchestrating deals across multiple stakeholder groups, including partners.
Responsibilities People Management
Empower and hold the team accountable by modeling, coaching, and caring.

Attract and retain top talent, invest in growth, and celebrate achievements.
Sales Execution
Lead and empower account teams to deliver customers’ business outcomes across their lifecycle.
Accelerate customer satisfaction and model executive engagements with business decision makers and C‑level executives.
Maximize share of wallet, achieve targets (billed revenue, consumption, adoption), and win against competitors through flawless execution.
Lead partnership across the organization to achieve business value for customers and Microsoft.
Transform team skills through hiring, retaining, and developing talent.
Scaling and Collaboration
Guide the team to build a network of partners for cross‑sell and up‑sell.
Identify new partners, evaluate partner capabilities, and facilitate partner strategy execution.
Provide feedback to One Commercial Partner (OCP) on partner strategy development.
Coach the team on orchestration models and continuous improvement.
Technical Expertise
Support team participation in Microsoft events and promote best‑practice sharing.
Act as Microsoft’s spokesman at external events, providing expertise on cloud transformation.
Coach the team on business, market knowledge, and product capabilities.
Sales Excellence
Establish customer satisfaction and partner experience standards.
Engage in strategic planning for assigned territory and review plans via Rhythm of Business meetings.
Align team approach with sales excellence initiatives and whitespace analysis.
Oversee end‑to‑end business across geographical regions.
Complete required training and certifications aligned to the role.
Mentor the team to grow sales or product knowledge.

Qualifications Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 6+ years technology‑related sales or account management experience.
OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Must successfully complete Microsoft Cloud background screening (bi‑annual).
Microsoft is unable to sponsor a work visa for this role.
U.S. citizenship is required; verification via passport or approved documents is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Security Clearance.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years technology‑related sales or account management experience.
OR Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field AND 8+ years technology‑related sales or account management experience.
OR 9+ years technology‑related sales or account management experience.
6+ years solution or services sales experience.
3+ years people management experience.
Solution Area Specialists M5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. In San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area the range is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.
