Applications Engineer I (Mechanical Engineer - Thermal Systems) – Not a Developer Role
Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience.
Location Based near Philadelphia (Horsham, PA).

Position Summary We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Applications Engineer with hands‑on experience in thermal processing systems. The ideal candidate will support system design and optimization for equipment such as dryers, ovens, griddles, and roasters. This role requires a strong grasp of thermodynamics and heat transfer principles to ensure top‑tier performance and efficiency. You’ll collaborate across departments in a team‑based, customer‑focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate customer needs and align solutions with engineering and product standards.
Perform heat and mass balance calculations and thermal system design.
Conduct thermal analyses and simulations to optimize performance.
Partner closely with cross‑functional teams including Sales, Engineering, and Project Management.
Perform on‑site process audits to improve equipment efficiency.
Support lab testing and validation of new and existing systems.
Build and maintain strong, long‑term customer relationships as a trusted technical advisor.
Participate in product presentations, trade shows, and technical discussions with customers.
Provide feedback to improve products and inform new development initiatives.
Define technical project requirements and assist with cost estimation and proposal development.
Manage project timelines, deliverables, and customer communication.
Travel up to 30% (domestic and international).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
3–5 years of experience in thermal, food, or industrial processing applications.
Proficiency in CAD and process simulation tools.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, team‑selling environment.
Preferred Experience
Hands‑on background in thermal processing or industrial drying systems.
Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing processes in a capital equipment environment.
