Responsibilities The candidate will author and edit technical documents for highly complex, state‑of‑the‑art products within Electronic Warfare and Targeting. Document types include manuals, job guides, general equipment systems, fault isolation & reporting, and illustrated parts breakdowns (IPB). The writer must have experience with Military Standards and Specifications and produce content such as theory of operation, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and training materials. Responsibilities also include interviewing product developers, reviewing production methods, referencing technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals; overseeing illustrative materials; and conducting quality reviews of peer documentation.
The candidate must be able to present training content in a classroom environment as required by contract, and present writing samples plus a short (3‑5 slide) presentation on a chosen topic.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years related experience or master’s degree and 6 years related experience
Demonstrated competency in desktop and publishing applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Demonstrated competency with Adobe Acrobat Suite
Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or Corel Designer Suite
Ability to interpret simple schematic circuits, proofing/editing, print production and fine attention to detail
U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Secret Clearance with additional customer‑specified clearance before start
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with at least one of FrameMaker, XML, or Arbortext Editor
Experience with Mil Standards (Air Force, Navy, or Army)
Salary & Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $98,600.00 – $147,800.00. Salary is determined by scope, responsibilities, and candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and, for senior positions, long‑term incentives. Benefits include health, life, disability insurance, a savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off.
