About the Role Position: Phlebotomist I at Quest Diagnostics – Pasadena, CA. Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotational weekends. State phlebotomy license required (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in California, Washington, Nevada).

Compensation Pay range: $21.70 – $25.10 per hour. Eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens according to established procedures (e.g., drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).

Administer oral solutions per training.

Research test/client information and verify all orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.

Navigate computers and accurately enter data.

Obtain identification, enter billing information, and collect payments per corporate policies.

Process specimens (label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, prepare for transport).

Perform non‑patient duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and email.

Read and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.

Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.

Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature) timely.

Complete online and in‑person training courses on time.

Qualifications

High‑school diploma or equivalent.

Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

One year phlebotomy experience preferred.

Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience.

Effective communication in English.
