Are you ready to join Connecticut Innovation’s vibrant community of innovators? Connecticut Innovations (“CI”) is Connecticut’s strategic venture capital arm, and we are passionate about serving our portfolio of 220+ companies across various industries, with strengths in life sciences, technology, and climate tech. Come join Bexorg, Decode the Brain. Reinvent Drug Discovery! Recent funding news: Bexorg Raises $42.5M to Transform CNS Drug Development with World’s First Integrated AI and Whole-Human Brain Platform About Bexorg

Bexorg develops systems that plan and execute human brain perfusion experiments and manage a growing biobank (10,000+ samples and growing rapidly) with zero tolerance for data failures. Since Bexorg was founded by Dr. Zvonimir Vrselja and Dr. Nenad Sestan at Yale University in 2021, the company has rapidly advanced its whole-human brain drug discovery platform. The company’s foundational research, which demonstrated that cellular and metabolic activity could be restored to postmortem brains hours after death, was published in Nature (Nature

568 , 336–343 (2019)). In 2024, Bexorg partnered with the University of Oxford and the UK Medical Research Council as part of a collaborative effort to advance translational gene therapy development for neurological diseases. In mid-2025, the company announced a research collaboration with pharmaceutical company Biohaven Ltd. to advance two of Biohaven’s preclinical development programs. In the last 18 months, Bexorg has expanded its proprietary dataset to include hundreds of whole-brain experiments spanning Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurodegenerative conditions, establishing one of the world’s largest repositories of human CNS data. Building on continuous growth of its proprietary human brain dataset, Bexorg is now training foundation models on petabyte-scale human brain molecular data, creating the first AI system grounded in experimentally measured human neurobiology. Role Summary

We are seeking a

Biosensor / Bioinstrumentation Engineer

to join our engineering team developing a next-generation perfusion device platform for advanced biological and drug research applications. This role focuses on designing, integrating, and validating sensor and instrumentation subsystems for precise physiological monitoring and automated control in a ... You’ll work at the intersection of biological systems, electronics, and software, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to translate biological requirements into robust, validated hardware and data acquisition architectures. The ideal candidate has experience integrating biosensors into complex systems, performing calibration and validation, and developing software tools or firmware for medical or life-science instruments. Key Responsibilities

Sensor Integration and Development

Design, prototype, and validate biosensor and bioinstrumentation modules (e.g., flow, pressure, optical, chemical, or impedance-based sensors). Develop robust data acquisition and signal conditioning circuits for high-fidelity measurement and control. Interface sensors with embedded controllers, DAQ hardware, and PLC-based systems. System Integration

Collaborate on integration of biosensors into the perfusion device’s automation and control architecture. Develop firmware, Python, or C++-based scripts for sensor communication, calibration, and data streaming. Work closely with software engineers to ensure sensor data integration with GUI, cloud, and control layers. Validation and Testing

Define and execute validation protocols for biosensor performance, reproducibility, and long‑term stability. Conduct system-level verification and calibration under simulated and biological load conditions. Support regulatory and quality documentation for design verification. Collaboration and Research

Interface with biologists and medical researchers to translate physiological requirements into instrumentation design criteria. Collaborate with hardware engineers to design sensor mounts, fluidic connections, and thermal/electrical isolation features. Maintain documentation in compliance with medical or medical-research development standards (ISO 13485, IEC 60601 desirable). Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 3–7 years experience in biosensor design, bioinstrumentation, or medical device integration. Experience with DAQ systems, analog/digital sensor interfacing, and data processing. Hands‑on experience with Python, C/C++, or MATLAB for data analysis or control scripting. Familiarity with signal processing, sensor calibration, and validation test development. Preferred

Experience developing or integrating systems under medical device or research instrumentation standards (ISO, IEC, FDA, or GLP/GMP). Knowledge of perfusion systems, microfluidics, or bioreactor control. Experience with embedded systems, PLC programming, or real‑time control environments. Familiarity with communication protocols (RS-485, I2C, SPI, Modbus, CAN). Exposure to Raman spectroscopy, optical sensing, or impedance-based diagnostics is a plus. What We Value

Zero tolerance for data failure First‑principles reliability:

detect/repair over wishful “exactly once”; reconciliation over hand‑waving. Evidence in production:

DR drills, integrity reports, change control with traceable artifacts. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
