Basic Function

The APS USCAN OEM Senior Account Manager position manages both Automotive OEM direct sales and OEM Resin Programs for specified accounts. This includes sustaining growth through both in‑house molding and tiered sourcing contracts. The role is based in the SE Michigan general area.

The Critical Elements to Achieve These Results Are

Lead the preparation and implementation of sales plans and programs that support strategic business unit objectives for those OEM accounts.

Negotiate and develop contracts in conjunction with Marketing and Business Management for assigned accounts.

Develop strong personal relationships with key customer contacts across functional areas to support objectives.

Collaborate on and support the commercial portion of the cross‑functional strategy with New Business Development Manager (NBDM) team members assigned to the same OEMs.

Communicate customer needs throughout the organization.

Plan and execute direct sales activities to meet agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix, and timelines.

Roles & Responsibilities

Act as the key LYB commercial contact at OEMs for OEM Raw Materials / Resin Purchasing for both direct purchases and the directed OEM‑LYB Resin Program(s).

Serve as the internal SME for commercial activities and communication at the assigned OEM procurement group.

Work with cross‑functional LYB teams (Sales, NBDM, PAD, ADTS, Marketing) as required.

Manage and lead OEM‑LYB Contract activities, annual renewals, and amendments on OEM Resin Programs.

Negotiate and improve overall OEM sourcing position, measured by LYB market share.

Communicate with Account Managers on implementation of OEM Resin Program “Directed Sourcing” and related commercial activities.

Manage monthly and quarterly OEM Resin Pricing, Price Reconciliation, and associated Accruals processes internally and with OEMs.

Ensure timely settlement of OEM Price Reconciliations (within 90 days).

Interface with Marketing, Finance, and other LYB units to manage credit postings/payment approvals and OEM payments.

Lead commercial communication for other LYB business units engaged with the OEM (e.g., O&P, Marketing, PP).

Coordinate internal resources to respond to OEM Resin Purchasing inquiries, working closely with Automotive NBDM and Marketing.

Maintain and grow relationships with OEM Resin Purchasing through regular review meetings and supplemental LYB resources.

Manage supply crises (allocations, shut‑downs, force majeure events) and communicate internally and externally at OEM and Tier molder customers as required.

Coordinate globally with regional counterparts on commercial OEM initiatives.

Develop and drive the overall Sustainability Strategy for LYB in collaboration with BDMs at assigned automotive OEMs, focusing on automotive sustainability market trends and driver implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Scientific, Technical, or Business field preferred.

Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in commercial or technical roles (Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Engineering, Product Management) within the automotive industry.

Experience with PP Compounds and Compounded Engineering Resins preferred.

Willingness to travel to meet OEM customers, Tier Molders, innovation centers, and HQ as needed.

Basic computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel) and Salesforce.com.

Strong communication skills and ability to interact across the organization with varied functional groups.

Capability to manage activities across a matrix organization.

Proficiency in prioritization and decision making.
