Annual Salary: $27,000 – $34,020 (approx. $5,577 – $5,689 per month). CSU salary range: $4,760 – $6,665 per month. Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director‑Architectural Trades & Auto Services and under the direction of the Facilities Project Supervisor, the Facility Worker II independently performs a wide range of semi‑skilled and basic skilled facilities and related systems and infrastructure maintenance, repair and renovation work which does not require journey‑level skills. Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repair and renovation work on facilities and systems using hand tools, power tools and equipment. Use hand and power tools for preventive maintenance and related repairs. Assist in maintaining shop and work areas; clean, maintain and service tools and equipment. Inspect equipment, systems and areas to identify problems and needed repairs. Coordinate with other trade workers, trade shops and FD&O units to complete repairs and maintenance assignments on schedule. Unlock and secure facility areas for equipment access, renovation and maintenance work. Report problems and needed repairs for documentation and scheduling. Implement lockout/tagout procedures on unsafe equipment and notify appropriate personnel. Respond promptly to emergency situations or urgent needs to prevent injury, damage or further incidents. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Operate communication devices for urgent needs and status updates. Operate utility cart, pick‑up truck, welding equipment, scissor lift, forklift and other equipment as certified. Record work efforts in computerized record‑keeping systems and accurate time records. Perform basic trades work in three or more trades with broad knowledge of theories, codes and procedures. Comprehensive knowledge of specific methods, practices and tools related to facilities and systems maintenance (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, mechanical). General knowledge of trade safety practices. Provide positive customer service with high ethical standards and problem‑solving focus. Operate motor vehicle, utility cart, scissor lift, boom lift and forklift (certified). Required Qualifications

Three years of hands‑on experience in general facilities and systems maintenance and repair or equivalent as a trades assistant or laborer. Completion of all OSHA required physicals and examinations. Valid California Driver's License; out‑of‑state candidates must obtain a California license within 10 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications

Basic understanding of at least three skilled trade areas. Certification or completion of a building trades education program. High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of experience in facilities and systems maintenance or comparable trades assistance. Experience maintaining state facilities, college/university or other multi‑facility complexes. Compensation and Benefits
