About the Role: Dean of Humanities & Coaching This is not a typical leadership role. As

Dean of Humanities & Coaching , you’ll be at the center of our academic vision — partnering closely with the

Dean of STEM & Coaching

and the

Head of School

to shape instruction, build leadership capacity, and drive scholar achievement across the humanities.

You’ll oversee coaching systems, lead school-wide Professional Development (PD), and ensure our classrooms are spaces of academic rigor, cultural relevance, and deep engagement — all while fostering a coaching culture built on trust, honesty, and high expectations.

You Will: Strategic Leadership & Coaching

Co-design and lead a robust coaching program for instructional leaders and teachers in ELA, Social Studies, and Humanities.

Provide real-time coaching, modeling, and feedback to drive high-impact instruction.

Develop clear coaching cycles and accountability systems tied to academic goals and charter standards.

Cultivate a coaching culture that’s data-driven, people-first, and equity-centered.

Data-Driven Instruction & Assessment

Monitor academic data to identify instructional gaps and strengths.

Guide leaders in using assessments to inform instruction, intervention, and enrichment.

Implement progress-monitoring tools to track teacher growth and coaching effectiveness.

Professional Development & Talent Development

Design and facilitate meaningful PD aligned with instructional goals and teacher needs.

Support leadership development for instructional coaches and emerging leaders.

Lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to foster collaborative learning and continuous improvement.

Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Partner with Operations, Special Education, and other teams to align systems and supports.

Contribute to charter renewal, instructional audits, and long-term strategic planning.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.

NYS SBL/SDL/SDA certification (preferred).

7+ years in

elementary education , including instructional leadership and coaching.

Proven success leading coaching initiatives tied to academic performance.

Deep understanding of

NYS Elementary curriculum standards , charter expectations, and accountability metrics.

Schedule and Requirements

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:10 AM – 4:15 PM, with evenings and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to navigate the school environment and perform standard leadership duties.

Background Check: A fingerprint-supported criminal history background check is required by law for employment in New York State Schools. Prospective employees must be fingerprint cleared before starting work.

Compensation Albany, NY $90,000 – $160,000 (3 months ago).
