Production Control Manager
Location: Buffalo, NY
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To: Plant Manager
Base Pay Range: $95,000.00/yr - $148,000.00/yr

Position Overview The Supply Chain Production Control Manager will develop and execute demand planning and production control strategies. This individual will lead a growing team of Master Schedulers and Production Planners to ensure seamless integration between engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics within a fast‑paced, high‑growth manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the development and maintenance of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to align with customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, and operations to ensure on‑time delivery of materials and finished goods.
Lead daily and weekly production control meetings to communicate priorities and resolve bottlenecks.
Standardize scheduling processes and tools across multiple production programs.
Build and manage demand forecasts in collaboration with sales, operations, and engineering.
Translate forecasts into actionable production and procurement plans.
Conduct capacity analysis to identify resource constraints and recommend adjustments to meet customer commitments.
Partner with business unit leaders to align planning with project milestones and delivery schedules.
Support new product introduction planning by integrating engineering change orders and ramp‑up requirements.
Leverage ERP and MES systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, JD Edwards) to enhance scheduling visibility and accuracy.
Implement SOPs for production planning and shop‑floor coordination.
Develop real‑time reporting tools and dashboards for capacity utilization, schedule adherence, and on‑time delivery.
Hire and mentor Master Schedulers and Production Planners, establish KPIs, and foster operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in production control, master scheduling, or supply chain management within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong expertise in ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite preferred).
Experience implementing or managing MES.
Proven track record of improving scheduling accuracy, reducing lead times, and increasing throughput.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints (TOC) principles.
Experience managing multiple production facilities or high-mix, low-volume operations.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and audit requirements.
