We are seeking a qualified ATC for a long‑term substitute position at High School East. The position is expected to begin around November 1 (aligned with Fall Playoffs) and conclude approximately February 23. Work Schedule:
Weekday shifts begin in the afternoon, with exact start times dependent on the athletic schedule. The athletic trainer is responsible for providing coverage at practices and games, except on Sundays and holidays (coverage required for games only on those days). The duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing basic instruction to athletic staff members in the prevention and care of athletic injuries and conditions. Training and supervising student athletes for athletic contests and practices. Referring student athletic injuries and conditions to physicians for appropriate diagnosis and/or treatment. Implementing appropriate instructions and treatment as directed by District and/or family physicians. Developing and supervising appropriate rehabilitation programs for student athletes under the direction of a physician. Assisting and advising the District’s coaching staff regarding injury prevention, conditioning programs, and the selection, care, and fitting of protective equipment. Inspecting and supplying all team medical kits prior to the beginning of each sports season. Treating and supervising treatment of all minor athletic injuries and conditions. Overseeing the organization, inventory, and requisition of all training room(s) supplies as approved and directed by the District’s Athletic Director. Maintaining accurate records of all injuries sustained by student athletes during school athletic events and all rehabilitation procedures. Developing and distributing emergency phone numbers. Coordinating between injured student athletes, coaching staff, and District and/or family physicians. Reporting directly to the Athletic Director or his or her designee. Implementing Concussion Management protocol for student athletes at the direction of the Athletic Director and pursuant to Board of Education policy. Salary:
