The base salary range for this position is $54,100.00 to $85,000.00 per year, paid hourly based on hours worked. Individual pay is determined by work location, experience, and other factors.
Position Summary As a BIM Designer, you will be engaged in the design documentation and responsible for setting up and managing Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members. Working under the direction of telecom discipline leads, this position provides an opportunity to showcase your Revit expertise while staying in accordance with Jacobs and client BIM standards. Using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, you will create and manage content toward fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L) and produce 2D construction drawings. You will coordinate with other designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers on the same Jacobs design team to transform the design intent of senior telecom design staff into constructible deliverables, including clash‑free 3D models.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Revit BIM models in alignment with telecom design standards.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design intent is accurately reflected in 3D models and 2D drawings.
Ensure models meet client and Jacobs BIM standards, including clash detection and resolution.
Document and update project deliverables and reference data.
Collaborate with telecom discipline leads to maintain design schedules and project milestones.
Required Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industry.
Understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
Experience following client design and modeling standards.
Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark‑ups or verbal direction.
Willingness to learn new things.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience.
Understanding of semiconductor or data center environments.
Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, and audio‑visual systems.
Knowledge and design experience with life safety, security systems, fire alarms, access control, and CCTV.
Knowledge of control systems, network components, and topology.
