Assistant/Associate/Full Tenure-Track Professor of Management, Daniels College of Business
The Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver (DU) invites applications for an Open Rank Professor of Management (tenure‑track). The position will join the Management Department, a team of 16 full‑time faculty members who teach undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in business administration, management, and related fields.
Position Summary The Open Rank Professor of Management will have responsibility for research, teaching, and service. Candidates whose scholarship and pedagogy focus on the emerging digital economy—for example, digital or technological innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence in value creation, strategy and leadership in the digital future, or digital entrepreneurship—will be especially encouraged. Other timely and important research topics within the general management domain will also be considered.
Essential Functions
Teaching:
Expected to teach courses for the academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters). A full‑time professor will teach six courses overall; a junior officer will receive two course releases for research during the first two years and may be able to teach during the nine‑week summer quarter.
Research:
Expected to conduct and publish high‑quality research in top journals (e.g., Financial Times Top 50, A* journals, or a four—or higher—ranking in the Association of Business Schools Academic Journal Guide). AACSB scholarly qualifications are required.
Service:
Expected to participate in departmental and college activities such as faculty meetings, curriculum development, student advising, assurance of learning, and scholarly engagement. Service to students is a core expectation.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate in management or a closely related field from an AACSB or EQUIS‑accredited school; ABD considered provided completion no later than March 31 of the first employment year (the applicant will hold instructor title until degree completion).
Demonstrated potential for strong performance in teaching, research, and service.
Experience interacting with diverse communities and evidence of inclusive teaching practices.
Strong English communication skills (written and oral).
Preferred Qualifications
Publications in Financial Times Top 50, A*; or a four or higher ranking in the Association of Business Schools Academic Journal Guide.
Research and teaching interests in the digital economy (or other timely research domains).
Knowledge and experience with varied teaching methods and curricular perspectives.
Experience engaging diverse student populations with different learning styles.
