The Recovery Project Engineer assists and supports the Project Management staff in the planning and implementation of a project. Enhances customer relationships by providing excellent service. Responsible for assisting the Project Manager with contract administration, procurement, subcontract awards, scheduling and costing, oversight of project quality and safety, compliance, and customer service, all in an effort to minimize risk and to keep the focus on LEMOINE's Foundations for Successful Execution.

The Recovery Project Engineer travels to residential homes to establish the scope of work and documents completed repairs for homeowner rehabilitation and reconstruction projects funded by HUD's Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program.

Job Responsibilities

80% travel in South Carolina.

Document activities and homeowner communications in QuickBase.

Residential Project Management Process Administration.

Conduct thorough residential inspections, including taking photographs, recording scope notes, and completing checklists or other required forms.

Inspect all interior and exterior areas of each home, including crawlspaces, attics, and roofs.

Coordinate with homeowners, subcontractors, and state inspectors.

Review and verify scope of work completion and quality.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control.

Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents.

Document project coordination meetings for distribution.

Monitor project schedules to ensure timeliness.

Life Safety Program Implementation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Construction Management, Engineering, or related curriculum, or equivalent work experience (preferred).

Entry level, 1-2 years of related construction project work experience (preferred).

Working knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and estimating for construction trades.

Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, project management, estimating, and scheduling software programs.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
