This position is the Director of Applications EHR Database & Integration Tools. This position leads the strategic direction, delivery, and evolution of the Epic Cogito ecosystem—spanning data architecture, analytics operations, and team performance. This role bridges technology and business strategy to ensure Epic-derived insights drive operational excellence, provide efficiency, and organizational growth. You will lead high-performing teams of Information Services professionals. This is virtual position with the potential for in-office meetings as required

What You'll Do

Define and execute the long-term roadmap for Cogito, Caboodle, and enterprise analytics integration partnering with Data & Insights, Epic Applications Business Intelligence, Product, and Clinical Operations to align Epic data strategy with organizational goals.

Establish authorization and prioritization frameworks for analytics requests with subsequent triage, and buildouts.

Direct a team responsible for enterprise-level Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using Caboodle, ensuring robust data pipelines for integration, optimization, and ongoing maintenance to support clinical workflows and analytics needs.

Coordinate with clients and external vendors to manage data extracts, interface feeds, and reporting deliverables that depend on Epic data.

Partner with the Data & Insights Office and Epic Reporting Business Intelligence teams to align Epic-derived data models with enterprise analytics strategy and Medallion architecture principles.

Work jointly with Epic application analysts to understand data lineage, define extract requirements, and validate build or workflow changes that affect Caboodle and Clarity data accuracy.

Build, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of developers, analysts, and specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, skill enhancement, and accountability.

Partner with your direct supervisor and peers to develop and execute the long-term vision for the Epic Cogito platform, including resource allocation, technology roadmaps, and adoption of emerging tools to enhance data quality, performance, and user experience.

Establish and enforce processes for analytics request intake, prioritization, validation, and publishing.

Monitor upgrade documentation and guide implementation of new Cogito and Caboodle capabilities.

Measure ongoing analytics success post go-live, adjusting priorities as needed.

Demonstrated ability to build and mature an analytics culture grounded in self-service, data quality, and shared governance.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience, certifications, or an associate degree will also be considered.

Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle certifications, CBIP) preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing Epic Cogito or similar data environments.

Strong, proven understanding of Epic’s Cogito ecosystem (Clarity, Caboodle, Radar, SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench) and their integration points.

Demonstrated success in collaborating on enterprise level initiatives, including integration with both Epic and non‑Epic systems.

Strong technical acumen in SQL, data modeling, and healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7).

Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience in team building.

Strategic thinker with a track record of decision‑making in complex environments.

Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of

$134,000.00 - $154,000.00

annually .
