Position: Hybrid-based Lead Consultant – M&A Environmental Due Diligence Practice
Your new role As a Lead Consultant, you will conduct Phase I environmental site assessments (ESAs) and limited environmental compliance reviews of complex industrial facilities, collaborate with the transaction team on identified liabilities, and assist clients with post‑transaction integration. You will also help maintain and achieve environmental regulatory compliance and improve ESG and sustainability performance.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Conducting environmental due diligence reviews, including limited environmental compliance reviews, of industrial sites to support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other business transactions. This includes desktop reviews, site visits, interviews with company management, historical data analysis, and preparing Phase I ESA reports consistent with ASTM standards or other custom reports tailored to client needs.
Providing general environmental compliance support across regulatory programs such as hazardous waste, wastewater/stormwater, air emissions, chemical/spill prevention, and Community Right‑to‑Know regulations. Tasks may include environmental plan development, permit transfers, and environmental reporting.
Traveling to facilities for site visits, both locally and non‑locally.
Supporting multiple projects simultaneously while meeting high‑quality standards on project deliverables.
Assisting with the development of junior team members, contributing to proposals and cost estimates, and managing certain projects.
About you
Minimum B.S. degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline (civil, environmental, chemical, environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, or biology). An advanced degree is desirable but not required.
3+ years of environmental consulting experience, including Phase I ESAs and environmental compliance reviews for industrial facilities. Experience with contaminated site investigation/remediation, emerging contaminants, health & safety, and ESG is helpful.
Demonstrated ability to perform Phase I ESAs and limited compliance reviews on complex sites, with willingness to travel short business trips (1–2 days) across the USA. A driver’s license and air travel are required.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced transactional environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and communicating complex technical issues clearly to clients.
