Responsibilities
Coordinate key human resources functions and contribute to building a supportive, efficient, and collaborative workplace culture.
Manage the employee life cycle, including recruitment and onboarding, staff compliance, payroll management, and employee professional development.
Maintain and update Workday job postings, assist with employee inquiries, and support employee engagement and workplace initiatives.
Support recruitment and hiring processes across employee types and maintain personnel files in alignment with university policies.
Oversee onboarding and training compliance for high‑volume new hires, including staff and student workers.
Partner with internal ASU offices to ensure international employee compliance with work authorization and documentation.
Collaborate with the Office of Human Resources to align departmental practices with university policies and procedures.
Research and resolve payroll issues, liaison between the unit and Financial Services.
Assist with department time‑reporting activities to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Prioritize projects and team initiatives, provide support for special projects, including research, analysis, and process improvement.
Leverage AI in routine tasks and contribute ideas for using AI to improve unit efficiency and overall performance.
Foster a positive culture, uphold organizational values, and champion engagement in all forms.
Collaborate across teams and actively participate in Enterprise Technology/ASU events and programs.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of HR functions (recruiting, training, and compensation).
Knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory requirements, laws and standards.
Experience performing a full range of human resource functions within the employee life cycle.
Proficiency with Workday HCM, ServiceNow, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Drive.
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP certification preferred.
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to model empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence.
Experience in a values‑driven organization with a strong commitment to inclusion and belonging.
