Leadership Lead

Primary Responsibilities The seasonal Leadership Lead position is responsible for the direct oversight and facilitation of all high‑school leadership programs such as Leader Quest, Explorers, and Counselors in Training. The ideal candidate will help highlight human growth within the teen years as well as within the camping community. It is imperative this individual shows a high level of maturity and a strong intuition in problem solving. It is also important this individual understands the mission/vision of both the Diocese of Green Bay and more specifically Camp Tekakwitha. The ideal candidate is one who has a desire to serve the campers, staff, and community deeply rooted in the Catholic faith. As a member of the lead team, this individual is expected to be a role model and set a standard of excellence for the camp counselors, kitchen aides, and counselors in training.
Minimum Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required
Applicant must be 20 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
Possess a Wilderness First Aid Certification (or willing to get certified)
Possess a ServSafe Food Handling certification (or willing to get certified)
Possess a Lifeguard Certification (preferable)
Understanding of the mission/vision of Camp Tekakwitha
Understanding of Catholic Church teachings and practices
Applicant must have a background in leadership training/outdoor education and have at least one year of previous youth camp staff experience (preferably at Camp Tekakwitha)
Demonstrate knowledge of human development through a leadership perspective
Proficiency with safety protocols and problem solving
Must be a proficient listener and communicator with people from all walks of life
Adequate knowledge of the summer camp world, youth programming, and Catholicism
Collaborative decision-making skills and conflict management
Ability to work well with people of all backgrounds
Competency in outdoor education, camping, and leadership development
Strong relational ability to serve as a member of a team, work independently, lead small groups, and work one on one with individuals
Competency in aligning to mission/vision, state standards, and ACA regulations
Excellent verbal communication skills
Strong decision‑making skills
Time management
Interpersonal communication
