Are you looking to deepen your knowledge of taxation while working at the intersection of finance and technology? As a
Junior Tax Manager , you will support the Team Lead Tax in managing Raisin’s tax compliance, reporting, and documentation in Germany and internationally. This role offers a hands‑on learning opportunity in a dynamic Fintech environment, with close collaboration across teams and exposure to a wide range of tax‑related topics and stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
Support in all tax matters for Raisin SE and its subsidiaries; if required with the support of external tax consultants.
Assist in the timely preparation and review of annual corporation tax returns (Corporation Income Tax, Trade Tax, VAT); and taking care of any other tax compliance obligations for Raisin SE and its international subsidiaries.
Responsible for the monthly VAT reconciliations and in coordination with our Team Lead Tax ensuring timely preparation and filing of VAT returns and compliance with VAT regulations.
Maintain and update tax records, filings, and correspondence with tax authorities.
Prepare responses to all general tax questions that arise in the day‑to‑day operational business.
Support the calculation of the income tax accrual as part of our month‑end, quarterly and annual closing procedures in close coordination with our Team Lead Tax.
Ensuring tax compliance of finance documents (e.g. outgoing invoices) and systems (tax setup of our ERP system).
Support in review of tax related contract terms in close coordination with our legal team.Support tax planning calculation for Raisin SE and its international subsidiaries in close coordination with our Controlling and Financial Planning & Analysis teams.
Support in calculation of deferred taxes (German Commercial Code and IAS 12).
Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and intercompany tax matters. Manage and continuously improve our tax compliance management system (Tax CMS).
Monitoring changes in tax laws and regulations and assist in implementing necessary adjustments.
Support during tax audits and during the audit of our annual stand‑alone and IFRS consolidated financial statements.
Liaise with external business partners - Tax Consultants, Auditors, fiscal and other authorities.
Your Profile Education
First experience in tax, accounting, or finance within a startup, corporate environment or multinational company.
Completed training as a Tax Expert Steuerfachangestellter/Steuerfachwirt/in or a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (preferred but not mandatory).
Skills
Familiarity with international tax principles expected; knowledge of transfer pricing concepts considered a plus.
Robust knowledge and experience in corporate tax (Körperschaftsteuer) and trade tax (Gewerbesteuer). VAT (Umsatzsteuer) and withholding tax knowledge considered a plus.
Expertise in writing comprehensive tax assessments and memos.
Proven ability to independently manage and drive projects to successful completion.
Proactive, service‑oriented mindset with a hands‑on approach.
Strong sense of accountability and ability to ask results‑driven questions.
High attention to detail with excellent prioritization skills to focus on key tasks.
Strong analytical skills with a high affinity for numbers.
Solid understanding of business processes and accounting principles.
Experience with leading Finance ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) or other tax/accounting software.
Fluency in German and English.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) or Google Workspace.
