Under the direction of leadership, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.Per diem position available, M-F daysExciting opportunity to join a growing interdisciplinary team caring for seriously ill patients and their families while managing symptoms, coordinating care, and working to improve overall quality of life. The candidate will work closely with providers including physicians, APPs, and mental health professionals in an outpatient ambulatory clinic, both in-person and remotely. Requirements include impeccable communication skills, compassionate listening, and commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. Ideally, candidates will have one or more years of experience in the outpatient setting with palliative care and/or hospice experience. Candidates will also possess a working knowledge of pain and other symptom-management in seriously ill patients, including the risks and benefits of opioids, benzodiazepines, and other medications common to the palliative care setting. Candidates will also have an understanding of the symptomatic and prognostic implications of the range of serious illnesses managed by our practice, including different cancer diagnoses, progressive neurologic, pulmonary and other diseases.
