Responsibilities This role is accountable for implementation and continuous improvement of validated programs for management of quality, food safety and food processing compliance within the Manufacturing plants and Distribution network. As a QFSE Director you will partner with Operations leaders to ensure manufacturing quality standards are set to the highest bar. You will lead a remote team and drive organizational development through technical education and leadership competencies. You will set expectations for food safety standards and will set manufacturing food safety excellence expectations for the organization. You have experience working with a field based manufacturing population and have demonstrated your ability to be a strong remote change agent. You are highly collaborative, have a customer service mindset and a high degree of agility and cross-functional influence.
Build and lead plant QFSE teams, gives performance management feedback and direction to ensure site QFSE goals and activities are aligned with the overall business
Partner with operations and supply chain leadership to provide support and solutions for situations involving Quality, Food safety and regulatory Compliance
Develop Strategic roadmap of projects and activities in line with QFSE function and purpose and business priorities
Drive continuous improvement in Quality management system, including but not limited to the systems, processes and capabilities involved in management of quality, Food Safety and Regulatory compliance at BEF factories, warehouses and Distribution centers.
Build and expand technical and functional capability of the QFSE manufacturing organization to support decision making in the management of Quality, Food safety and regulatory Compliance
Define, communicate, and maintain standards (policies, and procedures) to be implemented in all locations that manufacture or handle BEF products. Define the metrics for performance and methods for verifying compliance to those standards.
Accountable for the food safety, quality assurance plans, and food processing compliance programs in all BEF-owned locations that manufacture or handle BEF products.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required
Master’s Degree in a related field preferred
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing Quality food environment, leading teams and interacting with a corporate function
Working knowledge of QFSE standard setting and demonstrated proficiency developing food safety plans
Quality management systems & analytics, traceability systems implementation across multiple locations
Familiarity with Regulations governing food safety and quality of BEF product Certified in HACCP & PCQI. Experience with regulatory and GFSI inspections.
Highly collaborative and solution oriented with a customer service mindset
Excel in Communication skills with both technical and non-technical populations
Drive for results using a disciplined use of risk-based prioritization
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal Must be a self-motivated self-starter
Must be able to access & inspect work in heights (ladders, skyjacks), dimly lit/foggy spaces, or hard to access areas (underside of equipment) etc. i.e. where the team works
Ability to travel 70%
