Job Summary The Department of Radiology at the University of Michigan is seeking applications for a Research Investigator position in its Nuclear Medicine Division. Emphasis will be placed on applicants with a strong record of research accomplishment in one or more of the following areas: radiation dosimetry, pharmacokinetic modeling, PET and SPECT image reconstruction, Monte Carlo modeling, and the use of artificial intelligence in Medical Imaging.

Why Work at Michigan The Nuclear Medicine Dosimetry group has an excellent record of NIH and industry funded research in imaging and dosimetry related to radiopharmaceutical therapy. The candidate is expected to participate in the current projects as well as to develop innovative ideas and independent research projects to seek extramural funding. The ability to work in a multi-disciplinary collaborative environment is important along with excellent oral and written communication skills. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Desired Qualifications

Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics or Nuclear/Electrical/Computer Engineering.

Postdoctoral training in a related field.

A demonstrated research/publication capability, and academic track record.

Experienced in radiation dosimetry codes and their application in radiopharmaceutical therapy.

Good computer programming skills.

Proficiency in Monte Carlo methods and Deep Learning methods is highly recommended.

Modes of Work Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time.
