Overview The Member Service Representative is responsible for providing excellent service to members, exploring member needs, explaining products and services, and serving member requests such as new accounts, maintenance, loan applications, and teller transactions. The role operates within a high‑volume branch environment and supports members from simple services to complex requests requiring critical thinking.

Responsibilities

Ensure excellent member service for every member, every transaction, every time.

Conduct member interviews to uncover needs and improve overall financial situation.

Process opening and onboarding of new members.

Perform account maintenance and servicing on existing accounts.

Ensure proper documentation and signatures for all member interactions in compliance with rules, regulations, and MCU policy.

Process loan applications and collect required documentation for underwriting.

Ensure fully complete loan applications for underwriting and efficient processing.

Cross‑sell additional products and services to fit member needs.

Manage new account and loan pipeline with follow‑up to close effectively.

Meet or exceed sales goals for branch growth, including new members, checking accounts, and loan bookings.

Demonstrate professionalism and empathy during member interactions.

Assist branch team in driving referrals for new accounts and loans.

Perform outbound calls for service lists, lead lists, and referral follow‑up to meet sales and service goals.

Follow up on online loan applications and ensure effective closing.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of MCU products, policies, and procedures.

Back up teller line as needed and assist in lobby member flow.

Participate in opening and closing of the branch.

Adhere to all regulatory compliance training, including BSA/AML/OFAC.

Assist with community engagement outreach programs.

Maintain confidentiality of member financial information.

Perform other duties as required and special projects as assigned.

Travel as required.

Utilize strong member service, research, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.

Requirements

Retail banking experience is a plus.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous branch experience preferred, including sales and service.

Availability to work overtime and Saturdays as required.

Ability to perform in a high‑volume environment and meet deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Highly ethical character.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general technology use.
