Working directly alongside the Executive Director, this position is responsible for planning, managing, and executing the editorial communication calendar for Tacoma Youth for Christ (TYFC), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and brand standards. This role combines strategic planning, project management, and creative design, requiring collaboration across multiple teams and vendors.
Essential Functions
Editorial Calendar Management:
Oversee the creation and execution of TYFC’s communication calendar, including print (newsletters, promotional materials) and digital media (video, emails, social media, website).
Content Creation & Curation:
Be a storyteller. Gather, edit, and manage ministry stories for marketing purposes. Provide high-quality copywriting and develop marketing materials such as videos, newsletters, digital content, and promotional items.
Strategy & Tone:
Inform and guide the overall marketing and communications tone and strategy, maintaining knowledge of best practices for both print and digital marketing.
Project Management:
Coordinate projects involving multiple staff members or departments, ensuring timely and cohesive production of materials.
Brand Integrity & Ethical Standards:
Maintain TYFC’s branding standards, including logos, fonts, colors, and communication guidelines. Work with leadership and the DEI team to implement ethical marketing practices that protect and dignify our communities.
External Communications Policy:
Collaborate with leadership to create and implement policies around external communication, especially in response to significant events.
Asset Management:
Curate and maintain a collection of assets (photos, music, video) for various marketing purposes, ensuring accessibility for staff.
Website & Digital Presence:
Maintain and update the TYFC website, social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok), evaluating and implementing design and content changes as needed. Stay current with YFC USA communication guidelines.
Support & Collaboration:
Serve the Development and Ministry teams by providing marketing and communication support, including onboarding new staff on brand and communication standards.
YFC Events:
Assist in the execution and coordination of TYFC’s events. Coordinate and provide photography and videography for marketing and events. Collaborate with staff and stakeholders on event design and media production.
Vendor Management:
Build and maintain relationships with vendors related to print, design, and video production.
Supervision:
Direct and supervise marketing interns.
Tools & Systems:
Utilize and manage various systems and software, including Active Campaign, WordPress, Adobe Suite, Canva, Google Suite, and more.
Other Duties:
Perform other projects as assigned by the Executive Director and Development Director.

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life‑long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel. 1. Be a great storyteller —each YFC staff member should be ready and willing to share the mission of YFC and stories of young people making steps towards Jesus in a clear and compelling presentation. YFC staff will be given opportunities to share their stories in different venues such as the Auction, See the Story events, and smaller gatherings.
2. Coach volunteers to raise up young people to be great storytellers —YFC staff will equip volunteers to raise up young people who can clearly articulate their journey with Jesus to both peers and adults.
3. Invite your circle of influence —YFC staff will invite friends and family to events where the mission of YFC, as well as volunteer, prayer, and financial partnership opportunities, are presented.
While a specific amount is not attached to this expectation, we work towards a common goal of asking the Father to provide the financial resources necessary to reach more 11-19-year-olds across Pierce County with the life-transforming hope found in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is the one who moves in people’s hearts to invest financially.
