-Mon–Fri, 8a–4p(Outpatient clinic)
• Call Schedule:
-Monday 7:00 AM – following Monday 7:00 AM
• Call Type: Beeper
• Call Response Time: 15 minutes
• Phone Consults: 0–5 per day
• Admissions: 0–5
• Patient Volume:
-Minimum 5 outpatients daily;
-0–10 call patients
-Variable inpatient rounds/consults;
• Resident/Teaching Supervision: Yes
• Support Staff: 1 RN, 3 MAs, 1 PA/NP, 1 Office Staff
• % of Practice: 70% inpatient / 30% outpatient (may vary)
• Case Mix:
-Management and treatment of Bartter’s Syndrome, Fabry Disease, Fanconi Syndrome,
-Hemolytic-Uremic Syndrome, Hepatorenal Syndrome, and Renal Transplant cases
• Skills Required:
-Intubation (newborn and pediatric)
• Procedures:
-Hemodialysis
-Preferred ; Percutaneous renal biopsy,Acute/chronic -Peritoneal dialysis, Needle biopsy of the kidney
• Beds in the Dept: 189 (Hospital), 5 (Outpatient)
• EMR: Epic
• Other Info:
-EEG reads required (performed at Reading Hospital)
-Provider must commit to at least 1 week per month (ideally 2 weeks) of availability
-On-call provider expected to manage both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
