We’re looking for someone who builds companies through talent. This isn’t in-house, agency, or investor talent — you’ll actually build.

The Role

This is a hands-on Senior Recruiter (up to Recruiting Lead) role to lead recruiting that scales our companies. It’s not a support role; it’s ownership-driven.

About Boulton & Watt Our studio launches one company at a time, deliberately and with conviction. Our first two, Moxie (Series C, $25M ARR) and Meadow (Series A, market leader in LA), prove that great teams are the difference between good ideas and lasting companies. You’ll work directly with founders to translate business goals into world-class hires. Working side-by-side with me (Jan), we operate like builders from the inside out.

The Role Details

  • Full-cycle recruiting: Own sourcing, selecting, and closing for roles across multiple companies.
  • Search craft: Your sourcing engages excellent and non-obvious talent and you win them over.
  • System building: Design the tools, process, etc. that make our recruiting engine faster every month.
  • Founder partnership: Work directly with founders on talent strategy, role design, and making the right calls.
  • Range: Partner on executive searches and People projects to broaden your scope.

What Success Looks Like

  • 6 months
    • 8–10 key roles filled at Meadow, nailed recipe for core roles, also hired a unique role.
    • Recruiting systems clean, candidates moving fast, founders trust your process.
  • 12 months
    • Recruiting runs as an engine, not a project.
    • You’ve codified sourcing and process playbooks.
    • You’ve begun owning leadership searches end-to-end.
  • 24 months
    • You’re mentoring new recruiters and driving hiring strategy across the studio.

Who You Are

  • 4+ years startup recruiting experience (in-house, agency, or both).
  • Strong sourcing skills and talent market knowledge.
  • High-agency, driven, and resourceful.
  • Excellent communicator who builds trust fast.
  • You love early-stage company building.
  • Commercial: you understand the business so you can tailor hiring to it.

Compensation Range: $106.3K - $169K
