as a Senior Manager in Digital Channel Strategy for Public Affairs. In this role you will develop and execute data‑driven channel strategies that engage policy insiders and government stakeholders, building awareness, trust, and credibility for Microsoft’s global business.
As a key member of the Public Affairs team, you will create owned channel strategies (social and web) to expand capacity, drive impact, and ensure a cohesive multi‑channel experience across all touchpoints. You will also champion analytics, provide insights, and inform strategic decision‑making for the team.
Responsibilities
Develop and oversee digital channel strategies and planning for the CSR website, Microsoft On the Issues blog, and brand and executive social media on LinkedIn and X.
Use analytics, performance data, and social listening to set performance benchmarks, refine strategies, and optimize content cadence and channel mix.
Lead channel planning for campaigns and priority moments, ensuring alignment to audience insights and marketing objectives.
Lead always‑on channel planning for continuous delivery of key messages.
Manage the day‑to‑day editorial calendar for Microsoft On the Issues blog and brand social channels.
Deliver regular reporting and insights on channel performance, audience engagement, and campaign impact.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Public Affairs teams, program stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure cohesive execution and that content meets channel goals.
Drive outreach and amplification across Microsoft owned and operated channels to extend reach beyond our CELA digital channels.
Own paid boosting strategy to grow accounts, increase engagement, and drive messaging frequency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years of integrated marketing experience (digital, relationship, social media, campaign, event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work).
OR equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience using analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Sprinklr, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Customer Journey Analytics) to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and inform strategy.
Preferred (Additional) Qualifications
5+ years of experience in digital strategy, channel management, or marketing communications OR equivalent experience.
Experience developing and executing multi‑channel digital strategies across web and social platforms.
Familiarity with content management systems, social media platforms, and publishing workflows.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across multi‑functional internal and external teams and varying levels of experience.
Experience in public affairs, policy communications, or advocacy environments.
Knowledge of accessibility standards, SEO, and digital UX best practices.
Experience managing executive social media programs or high‑profile accounts.
Pay Base pay range: USD $106,400 – $203,600 per year (U.S.). For San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area: USD $137,600 – $222,600 per year.
