Principal or Senior Principal Systems Engineer

to join our Payload Systems Engineering Team as an

Algorithm Description Document (ADD) Lead . As a member of this team, you will support efforts on both concept and product development to deliver key solutions to our customers. We cover a wide variety of expertise within the systems engineering domain, including mission engineering, requirements, architecture, modeling and simulation, integration and test, and verification and validation.

As the

ADD Lead Engineer , you will be responsible for creating multiple Algorithm Description Documents, ensuring that each detail of the algorithm design, logic and implementation is fully documented. You will ensure that the problems addressed by each algorithm are well defined, that all appropriate steps are well documented, and that the algorithms are fully designed. The ADD Lead will also ensure that the final documents are concise, unambiguous and complete. Typical responsibilities include:

Clearly define problem space and lead or assist with development of technical algorithmic solutions.

Analytical problem solver capable of identifying and gathering all applicable requirements.

Create core logic of algorithms for implementation via Model‑Based Systems Engineering.

Lead optimization analyses of algorithms, highlight alternative approaches, and document analysis results.

Ensure that documentation contains all required details and is clear and easy for others to understand.

Sr. Principal

level, based on the basic qualifications below. It can be based in

Linthicum, MD

or

Rolling Meadows, IL .

The Basic Qualifications You Must Have To Be Considered

Principal Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM curriculum with 5 years relevant experience; 3 years with MS degree; or PhD with 1 year of experience.

Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM curriculum with 8 years relevant experience; 6 years with MS degree; or PhD with 4 years of experience.

Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Systems engineering experience (requirements, mission engineering, architecture, modeling and simulation, integration and test, verification and validation).

Proficient in Cameo.

Space experience.

Sensor/payload experience.

Active TS/SCI.

Please be aware that this position will be contingent upon capturing program award(s), obtaining and maintaining customer and/or business funding, and holding final clearances (if applicable) prior to start date.

Primary Level Salary Range : $105,400.00 – $158,000.00 Secondary Level Salary Range : $131,100.00 – $196,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long‑Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
