SLC works on behalf of clients to support utility‑scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, thermal power, and other power and infrastructure projects. We evaluate and optimize technical, commercial, environmental, social responsibility, and financial aspects of the projects for a variety of clients.
Responsibilities
Perform structural engineering reviews and analyses to understand power projects.
Prepare structural design specifications.
Advise power project developers to support new utility‑scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, thermal, and other projects.
Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing.
Develop technical reports for applicable audiences – including owners, developers, governmental agencies, committees, and financiers.
Hybrid Work Schedule This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in‑office work 3 days per week.
Qualifications
We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
Vital: Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering with a structural specialty. Master’s degree in civil/structural engineering or business (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
5+ years of detailed structural design experience, including mass concrete, steel, piles, deep foundations, lattice structures, etc.
3+ years of experience working in detailed structural design specific to power generation or distribution (thermal, renewable, substations, etc.).
Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Structural Engineering specifications, calculations, and whitepapers or feasibility studies.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical evaluation report writing.
Valued but Not Required Skills and Experience
Professional Engineering (PE) or Structural Engineering (SE) license.
Finite element modeling experience – specifically SAP2000, LPILE, STAAD, etc.
Experience with design of foundations in unique subsurface conditions (e.g., karst, high groundwater, potential for liquefaction).
Multi‑disciplinary teamwork (e.g., design projects, co‑ops).
Data analysis and visualization.
Project finance or business acumen.
Conceptual project design.
Construction project management and/or scheduling software knowledge.
Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others.
Project planning, leadership, and organizational skills.

Compensation Range $82,380.00 – $125,860.00
