as a Senior Hardware Engineer in Annapurna Labs, an organization within AWS Utility Computing (UC) that designs silicon and software to accelerate innovation in cloud solutions. Annapurna Labs creates custom chips, accelerators, and software stacks to solve technical challenges never seen before, delivering results that help AWS customers change the world.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the definition, design, and validation of AWS next‑generation ML chips, cards, and server integration.

Own the design and execution of new building‑block components and server products to create customized platforms for AWS data centers.

Work closely with internal design teams and global design partner teams to produce world‑class server and rack products.

Integrate multiple bespoke components developed by Annapurna Labs teams and integrate racks into AWS infrastructure.

Provide leadership of new server deployments in a continuous effort to deliver a world‑class customer experience.

Continuously improve product performance, quality, and cost with high standards for yourself and the team.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

5+ years of relevant experience with complex accelerator, storage, or network server designs.

3+ years of hardware/firmware development experience with proven ability to debug PCIe, memory, or storage subsystems.

Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures.

Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production, collaborating with internal hardware, firmware, software teams and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience in RTL coding, debug, and performance, power, area analysis with trade‑offs.

Experience with modern ASIC/FPGA design and verification tools.

Experience with SOC bring‑up and post‑silicon validation.

Compensation and Benefits Base pay ranges from $143,300 to $257,300 per year, depending on geographic market. Additional equity, sign‑on payments, and other compensation may be provided as part of the total package.
