is seeking a
Senior Director of Operations
to lead all production and operational excellence across a dynamic, multi-process environment.
The company provides advanced CNC machining, metal fabrication, forming, and finishing services — producing critical components for
heavy rail manufacturers, industrial OEMs, and engineered systems providers .
This is a
hands‑on leadership role
on a five‑person executive management team — ideal for an operational leader who thrives on driving efficiency, building strong teams, and scaling performance in a complex, high‑mix production setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all day-to-day operations, including Production, Scheduling, Quality, Purchasing, and Maintenance.
Oversee capital planning, equipment justification, and project execution.
Drive operational excellence through Lean and 5S practices, data-driven performance metrics, and disciplined KPI management (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
Partner with cross-functional Engineering, HR, and Finance leaders to align strategic and operational goals.
Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and professional respect throughout the organization.
Mentor front‑line leaders to develop next‑generation operational talent.
Direct involvement in new product and project launches, ensuring flawless execution and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Proven success leading manufacturing operations in a
precision metals, fabrication, or component manufacturing
environment.
Deep working knowledge of machining, fabrication, forming, and assembly processes.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to earn the respect of shop‑floor teams through technical knowledge and daily engagement.
Demonstrated experience implementing Lean tools and managing KPIs.
Excellent organizational and planning skills to balance 300+ active work orders across multiple departments.
Hands‑on, “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” leadership style — visible, engaged, and solution-oriented.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems; certification experience preferred.
