Job Purpose The Shop Supervisor is responsible for training, developing, and managing all heavy‑equipment mechanics, yard workers, and utility workers. This role ensures the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer service through effective maintenance, repair, and operational oversight of the branch’s rental and service equipment.
What you will do
Develop consistent and regular schedules for all mechanics and yard technicians to perform maintenance on heavy equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
Operate equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, hydraulics, pumps, and assorted tools.
Communicate effectively and professionally with customers.
Maintain all required documentation, timesheets, checklists, receiving records, repair orders, and maintenance logs.
Order parts for equipment and supervise the work area to keep it clean and organized.
Assist mechanics with general service tasks and record keeping.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
A valid driver’s license.
Own a general mechanic's tool set capable of supporting a heavy equipment fleet and be willing to expand the personal collection.
Skills
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and operate large, heavy machinery.
Reading and understanding operating procedures, owner’s manuals, and product/warning labels.
Customer service orientation.
Solid written and verbal communication skills; basic computer operations.
Time‑management and adherence to safety and operational standards.
Pay Range $75k–$80k/year + quarterly profit share & company vehicle.
