Early Career Geotechnical Engineer
to work on projects in Davis, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Los Angeles, CA; Broomfield, CO; and Seattle, WA.
As an Early Career Geotechnical Engineer, you will apply academic knowledge to real‑world site characterization, design and construction of earth‑retaining structures, foundations, dams, forensic investigations, instrumentation, numerical analysis, and geohazard mitigation. You will also learn vital business skills required for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct geotechnical field investigations.
Monitor heavy civil construction projects.
Perform and review engineering calculations.
Apply earthquake engineering principles.
Evaluate, design, and permit dams and levees.
Develop construction documents.
Write and review engineering reports.
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or project sites as needed.
Education and Licensure
Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or environmental engineering (required).
Advanced degree in the same discipline (preferred).
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
At least 2 years of work experience in engineering consulting or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting (preferred).
Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS (preferred).
Regular field work and overnight travel (required).
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, client‑driven drug and background testing (required).
Valid U.S. driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
Current valid U.S. work authorization. New H‑1B visa lottery and employment‑based green card sponsorship are not available for this position.
Compensation
Minimum salary $64,485 / year – maximum $95,170 / year (Broomfield, CO).
Minimum $70,625 / year – maximum $104,230 / year (Davis, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Los Angeles, CA).
Minimum $32.47 / hour – maximum $37.48 / hour or $77,968.80 / year – $104,230 / year (Seattle, WA).
