Pay Range:
$97.75 - $156.40
Major Responsibilities
Provides all elements of pre‑anesthesia, anesthesia and post‑anesthesia services including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care consistent with anesthesia plan and in collaboration with the surgeon, anesthesiologist and surgical team.
Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence‑based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives.
Participates in preoperative evaluation including assessment, exam, obtaining informed consent, ordering and administering pre‑medications and reviewing preoperative studies.
Ensures readiness and availability of equipment, supplies and medications to perform the planned anesthetic.
Delivers anesthesia care including induction, maintenance, support of life functions, and emergence from anesthesia.
Selects, obtains, and administers the necessary anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids and temperature‑regulating devices to manage the anesthetic and assess response to intervene as needed.
Performs post‑anesthesia duties including remaining with the patient and facilitating safe transfer of care, administering post‑operative epidural pain relief and other post‑operative analgesia in collaboration with the surgeon, and making post‑anesthetic visits regarding anesthesia‑related complications.
Manages emergency situations by assessing, stabilizing, and determining disposition of patients, providing advanced airway management, administration of emergency drugs and fluids, and using basic and advanced cardiac life support techniques.
Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record; substantiates and submits professional services consistent with compliant coding and billing practices.
Other Responsibilities
Participates in quality, safety and peer review initiatives, departmental meetings and committees, and workgroups as needed.
Participates in education and onboarding of new team members, students and other healthcare professionals.
Seeks experiences to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and advance the profession within and outside the organization.
Maintains standards of productivity, access and quality metrics to ensure optimal, safe and timely patient care delivery.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary for age‑specific patient care as outlined by departmental policies and procedures.
License / Registration / Certification Required
Active RN, and APRN/APRN‑FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice.
Active national board certification as CRNA (NBCRNA).
Active DEA registration prior to hire.
Active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (if Illinois practice).
Active ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical site/practice within 6 months of hire.
Master’s Degree in Nursing.
No experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision‑making skills.
Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
Adaptation to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate and build relationships with others.
Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must have functional vision and hearing.
Must Be Able To
Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
Lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
Carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
Push or pull with 30 lbs. of force.
Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
