Data Engineering Manager
to modernize our enterprise data ecosystem and enable smarter, faster business decisions.
In this pivotal role, you’ll blend traditional data warehousing expertise with modern cloud‑based engineering. You’ll design scalable data pipelines, lead modernization initiatives, and guide a small but high‑impact team across cloud platforms, orchestration frameworks, and transformation tools. This is a hands‑on leadership position where you’ll shape the technical direction, mentor developers, and collaborate closely with both business and technical stakeholders.
What You’ll Do Build & Lead:
Manage and mentor a hybrid onshore/offshore team of up to 4 developers, driving accountability, quality, and technical growth.
Modernize:
Lead the migration of legacy ETL (Informatica PowerCenter) to cloud‑native, scalable architectures.
Engineer:
Design and implement robust data pipelines using
Snowflake ,
DBT ,
Apache Airflow , and
Azure Data Factory .
Integrate:
Connect diverse data sources—on‑prem, cloud, APIs, XML feeds, and third‑party systems—into unified, reliable datasets.
Collaborate:
Partner with business stakeholders to translate data needs into elegant, efficient, and well‑documented solutions.
Architect:
Develop dimensional models, optimize performance, and ensure data integrity and consistency.
Innovate:
Contribute to architectural roadmaps and introduce modern best practices in automation, orchestration, and CI/CD.
Support:
Provide hands‑on technical guidance and occasional on‑call production support as needed.
What You’ll Bring 5+ years of experience in
data engineering or data warehousing , with strong exposure to both legacy and cloud environments.
Deep technical expertise in:
Snowflake
(data modeling, performance tuning)
DBT
(data transformation, testing)
Apache Airflow
(orchestration and workflow management)
Proven success migrating from
Informatica PowerCenter
or similar ETL tools to modern architectures.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Bonus Points For Experience with
Azure ,
AWS , or
GCP
data ecosystems.
Exposure to
big data frameworks
(Spark, Kafka, Delta Lake).
Collaboration with
Data Science teams
or involvement in
predictive analytics workflows .
Familiarity with
CI/CD pipelines
and
version control systems
(Git, Azure Repos).
Experience integrating with
Adobe Campaign
or other marketing data platforms.
Total Rewards The base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $160,000 annually for employees based in Boston, MA. Final compensation may vary and will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus and first‑class benefits, which include:
