APRN / PA - Acute Care Hospitalist
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) invites applications for the APRN/PA Acute Care Hospitalist position within its acute care hospitalist program. Job Summary
As an integral part of the UAMS Hospitalist Care Team, the APRN/PA collaborates with attending physicians and residents to provide comprehensive inpatient care. Responsibilities include patient rounds, procedure assistance, patient and family education, and coordination of multidisciplinary care. Responsibilities Maintain required audits for credentialing. Engage in continuing education, maintain mandatory competencies, and complete medical center learning modules. Participate in institutional initiatives and encourage colleague participation. Collaborate in policy, program development, and implementation using evidence?based practices. Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care, facilitate consults, and ensure timely, appropriate service. Lead service?line meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Provide comprehensive care for acute and chronic conditions, including education, counseling, and referral to community resources. Diagnose and manage health problems autonomously while serving as an interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate. Communicate complete, unbiased information to facilitate informed decision?making. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
APRN Requirements:
Masters Degree in Nursing Acute Care Certification Plus APRN License Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
PA Requirements: Master's Degree in Physician Assistant PA Licensure Minimum 2 years of PA experience
Additional Must?Haves: Competence with standard nursing equipment (scales, procedure devices, needles, blood pressure apparatus, EKG machines) Normal communication and sensory functions Compliance with CDC Universal Precautions
Preferred Qualifications: Inpatient nursing experience Prescriptive authority and DEA license (to be obtained post?hire)
