Job Summary:
We are seeking a Java Production Support Engineer (L2) for a leading financial services client in Alpharetta, GA.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java-based application support, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring in a 24/7 production environment.
This role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and the capability to work closely with cross-functional technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Level 2 (L2) production support for Java/J2EE-based enterprise applications. Monitor application performance, logs, and alerts using tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace.
Perform incident analysis, root cause investigation, and issue resolution within SLA timelines. Coordinate with L1 and L3 teams to ensure timely resolution and minimize production downtime.
Participate in release validation, deployment support, and post-release monitoring. Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation.
Support and coordinate during on-call rotations for critical application incidents. Work with business users and stakeholders to communicate updates, system impacts, and solutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
6+ years of experience in Java/J2EE application support or production support. Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices. Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL).
Experience with incident management, change management, and ITIL processes. Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Kibana, AppDynamics, Grafana, or similar. Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix commands and shell scripting.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is a plus. Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills. Ability to work onsite in Alpharetta, GA (no remote option).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in financial or banking domain, preferably with Fiserv applications.
Understanding of payment systems, transaction processing, or card services environments. Certifications in ITIL, AWS, or Java are a plus.
