As a Senior Principal Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Securitized Products Group, you will provide deep engineering expertise and collaborate across agile teams to enhance, build, and deliver trusted, market‑leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will leverage your extensive expertise to consistently challenge the status quo, promote innovation for business impact, and lead the strategic development of new and existing products and technology portfolios. Staying at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances is essential. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our mortgage pricing and analytics platform, advancing modernization and re‑engineering efforts to enable sustainable elasticity both on‑premises and in the cloud. The platform comprises various analytics, models, workflows, and UI components that are extensively utilized across the bank.

Job responsibilities

Advises and leads on the strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across a portfolio

Creates novel code solutions and drives the development of new production code capabilities across teams and functions

Translates highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to drive the firm's innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well‑informed decisions about technology advancements

Drives adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies

Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that are leveraged across teams and functions

Influences across business, product, and technology teams and successfully manages senior stakeholder relationships

Champions the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.

Strong understanding of highly distributed systems including synchronous vs asynchronous communications, message serialization and schema evolution, idempotency, transactional boundaries, and resiliency

Expertise in C/C++ programming language

Demonstrated prior experience with influencing across functions and teams and delivering value at scale

Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability

Exposure to cloud-based solutions and overall cloud infrastructure

Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

AWS Certification

Ability to re‑engineer large C/C++ frameworks using modern Design Patterns and Object‑Oriented approach

Experience in Mortgage Analytics
