Job Summary This position requires four to five 8–10 hour shifts per week (40 hours/week). The shifts will regularly extend to evening and overnight hours with an average of three weekend shifts per month. The CRC will screen and enroll subjects in interventional trials and observational cohort studies, perform data entry, and process biological specimens. The CRC will obtain biospecimens (blood, urine, tracheal aspirates) with the assistance of nurses, respiratory therapists, and physicians. Specimens will be labeled, processed, and logged according to study protocols. All duties must be performed on site at the Hospital and Trauma Center; remote work is not an option. The CRC will also coordinate with pharmacy and blood bank staff, obtain consent, and monitor subjects after drug administration.

Primary responsibilities include enrolling hospitalized patients with severe traumatic injuries, critical illness, or COVID‑19 infection; coordinating longitudinal data collection; maintaining databases (REDCap, CHR online system); and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies (IRB, HIPAA, FDA). The CRC may sign non‑disclosure agreements with industry partners and must be willing to wear appropriate PPE and comply with vaccination/testing requirements.

Required Qualifications

HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to perform the assigned duties.

Attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication.

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications

BA/BS degree in a related field.

Spanish or Cantonese language proficiency.

Experience in an emergency department, ICU, or prehospital environment.

Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and biospecimen handling.

Ability to work daytime, evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and REDCap.

Familiarity with CHR online system and I/Medris protocols.

Experience with HIPAA, GCP, and laboratory safety training.
