Managing Director, Transaction Advisory Services - Healthcare Financial Due Diligence
BDO USA is seeking a Managing Director for Transaction Advisory Services focused on Healthcare Financial Due Diligence. The role requires leadership in overseeing TAS Centers of Excellence, driving new business, supporting client engagements, and maintaining strategic client relationships.
Job Summary The Managing Director is a leadership position responsible for executing the national TAS strategy, leading new business origination, and supervising client engagement teams. The individual must provide technical expertise, maintain quality standards, and foster client relationships.
Job Duties
Oversee all functions of the TAS Center of Excellence.
Lead new business origination efforts.
Coordinate cross‑selling opportunities across BDO service lines.
Supervise client engagement teams to ensure efficient delivery of high‑quality services.
Lead complex deal‑related issues, providing insight into quality of earnings adjustments, pro‑forma and normalisation calculations, working‑capital analysis, debt analysis, warranties, and purchase‑agreement reviews.
Manage the full spectrum of transaction advisory work, including buy‑side and sell‑side mandates.
Enforce standards for quality and consistency, elevating sophistication in client engagements.
Coach and mentor staff in due diligence, decision making, report writing, and project management.
Ensure client expectations are met, maintain relationships, and resolve client concerns.
Leverage BDO’s firm‑wide capabilities beyond TAS during client engagements.
Identify risks in transactions and communicate them to clients.
Develop proposal documents and conduct presentations to acquire new clients.
Partner with management members to promote TAS services to existing and prospective clients.
Provide performance feedback to TAS team members throughout the fiscal year.
Travel up to 50% as required.
Perform other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Schedule and supervise tasks and projects for Senior Associates and Managers.
Review work product from Senior Associates and Managers and provide comments.
Partner with the TAS Director to give verbal and written performance feedback to Senior Associates and Managers on an ongoing basis.
Education Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance preferred.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance preferred.
MBA preferred.
Experience
Ten (10) years of financial statement‑related professional services experience, with at least five (5) years in a dedicated TAS environment, including complex national and multinational buy‑and‑sell side transactions; carve‑out experience preferred.
Prior experience interacting with C‑level personnel preferred.
Experience at a Big 4 or other top‑tier consulting firm preferred.
License/Certifications
CPA preferred.
Software
Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated practice leadership and development skills.
Excellent project management and communication skills with a sense of urgency.
Ability to lead engagements, support/supervise staff, and respond to client needs.
Solid knowledge of technical accounting areas such as US GAAP.
Executive presence and strong business acumen.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially business writing aptitude.
Ability to initiate and maintain solid relationships with all levels of client personnel and to use network and industry relationships for business development opportunities.
Compensation National Range: $250,000 – $400,000. Maryland Range: $250,000 – $400,000. NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $250,000 – $400,000.
