Position Summary The Senior Manager, Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement is a lead fundraising role responsible for successfully implementing our signature gala, Soiree by the Bay, as well as supporting other chapter fundraising and community events throughout the year. They are responsible for meeting or exceeding event budgets in assigned areas, and work in partnership with Foundation leaders, community volunteers and committees to drive growth and success in event fundraising campaigns. In partnership with the Executive Director, this individual will develop and execute fundraising strategies and identify, recruit, train, and partner with leadership volunteers to harness their passion and skills to advance the mission of the Foundation. This is a hybrid role with 2 days/week based out of the San Francisco office and 3 days based out of home, but traveling to meetings regularly. Some evening and weekend work is required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Implement Foundation fundraising best practices and recruit and manage high-level volunteers, strategic initiatives, revenue‑generating activities and event day logistics that result in meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
Identify and cultivate individuals, corporate, healthcare and community partners who will maximize growth and revenue impact.
Develop impactful relationships within the patient, healthcare, and corporate community, empowering them to tell their stories to impact revenue growth and engagement.
Build a compelling vision for growth and collaborate with volunteer leaders and staff to achieve it.
Manage and execute logistics to provide an inspirational day‑of event experience for corporate partners, patients, and supporters.
Be knowledgeable about Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and the Foundation’s strategic plan, operations, and mission.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
3+ years of relevant experience in not-for-profit fundraising.
Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising experience including events.
Knowledgeable in corporate giving, donor cultivation, recognition, records and acknowledgement.
Proven skills in committee and volunteer management and development.
Familiarity with major gifts and Moves Management.
Proven skills in strategic planning, budgeting, and utilization of data to drive results.
Prior supervisory experience, preferably managing a team.
Exceptional written/oral presentation and communication skills.
Creative thinker/problem solver.
Self‑motivated, results oriented leader with strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage a budget.
Skillful in balancing multiple and competing priorities.
Proven capability of working with a variety of personality and leadership styles in a matrixed organization, and externally with volunteers and partners.
Proficiency in MS Office suite, Donor Direct, and Convio a plus.
Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to travel locally up to 25%.
