Responsibilities The

Medication Safety Coordinator

(MSC) works in collaboration with medical staff, pharmacy staff, nursing staff, and other health care providers to coordinate all activities related to medication safety. These activities involve reporting, system and process evaluation, formulation of recommendations and initiatives, coordination of intervention strategies, and monitoring of activities related to medication safety. The MSC assesses medication use system processes, identifies opportunities to improve medication use safety, reviews system failures, designs solutions, and implements practice changes. The MSC should be knowledgeable in safety principles, continuous quality improvement, human factors engineering, and current trends in medication safety.

Under general supervision, the

Medication Safety Coordinator

is responsible for the efficient and accurate provision of pharmaceuticals, supplies, and drug information according to established standards of practice, covering patient care areas and the pharmacy. Responsibilities include drug distribution, clinical, educational and research activities, and ensuring rational and cost‑effective medication use.

Shift Full Time (40 hours) – Day Shift. Weekend work required. On‑Call may be required.

Education / Experience

Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm. D degree or a Bachelor of Science degree with at least four years of equivalent experience is required.

Enhanced knowledge and abilities can be acquired through post‑degree coursework, residencies, or other professional experience.

Current state licensure as a Pharmacist is required.

Compensation Salary Range: Minimum 58.41/hour – Maximum 96.46/hour. Compensation is commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as $0, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion.
