Job Summary
High‑performance product team in Supermicro is seeking a talented Sr. System Engineer to develop next‑gen AI/GPU‑based platforms. Hands‑on experience with server hardware and software is needed. Knowledge of server hardware architecture (GPU, CPU, motherboard, memory, storage, and networking) is required. This individual will work cross‑department to drive system development and validation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assemble systems (GPU, CPU, motherboard, memory, storage, and networking).
Root cause diagnosis: identify and analyze the root cause of system failures, isolating specific components or failure nodes to implement effective solutions with engineering teams.
Test automation: utilize basic scripting skills to automate validation tests, increasing efficiency.
Linux operating‑system level benchmarking, validation, testing, driver and software stack testing and debugging, including test script development.
Generate and publish comprehensive test reports, effectively communicating findings and insights to team members.
Participate in product development cycles from concept through launch, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
Cross‑functional project work: engage with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, component managers, and others on assigned projects to ensure cohesive development and implementation.
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master’s degree in EE, CE or ME with minimum 8 years of system engineering experience.
Experience in scripting languages (Python, Linux Shell, etc.).
Knowledge of server architecture and hardware (GPU, CPU, motherboard, memory, storage, networking).
Experience in system testing, validation and performance benchmarking.
Experience configuring and administering Linux.
Salary Range
$145,000 - $161,000
The salary offered will depend on factors such as location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other compensation forms, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
