Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer

to support the Sentinel program. This opening is in

Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL

and will oversee the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production, and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

What You Will Do The Cost Engineering position represents a unique specialty engineering opportunity within the larger Systems Engineering organization. The Cost Engineer works closely with all technical aspects and requirements of the program, linking the technical solution to the cost solution. Responsibilities include performing a variety of engineering economic analyses across the product life‑cycle. The position requires an understanding of at least two of the following analyses: Cost‑Effectiveness, Life Cycle Cost (LCC), Cost As an Independent Variable (CAIV), Design to Cost (DTC), and Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI). It’s essential to understand systems thinking and the full development life cycle.

Requirements The candidate will develop and oversee trade‑offs of requirements, design, performance, cost, and schedule to address affordability constraints. Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering—stakeholder analysis, mission engineering, system architecture and design, system integration, system analysis and trade studies, risk and opportunity management—is required. The candidate should also demonstrate sound engineering economics and business acumen. The Cost Engineer may participate in new business capture efforts and ongoing program execution, providing credible cost analysis in a non‑advocacy role as an honest broker.
