Associate Director of Events – Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa Step into a pivotal leadership role at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa, a premier ski‑in/ski‑out luxury destination nestled in the heart of Beaver Creek Village. Fresh off a multimillion‑room transformation, the resort continues to redefine the guest journey through reimagined rooms and suites, elevated culinary experiences, and world‑class meeting and event spaces.

As Associate Director of Events, you will be second‑in‑command within the Events Department, reporting directly to the Director of Sales, Marketing & Events. You will drive both sales revenue and operational excellence by cultivating new and repeat business, leading a high‑performing team, and ensuring flawless execution of group and social events. This unique opportunity allows you to grow into a future Director of Events role while making a lasting impact at one of Hyatt’s most iconic mountain resorts.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively sell group and social events—including weddings, galas and milestone celebrations—focusing on event spaces, catering, guest rooms and ancillary hotel services.

Conduct site inspections, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and close sales to meet and exceed quarterly goals.

Leverage Hyatt’s proprietary systems (including Envision) to manage accounts, ensure accurate forecasting and track performance.

Represent the resort at client events, trade shows and industry networking opportunities to expand market reach.

Oversee assigned group and social accounts, ensuring flawless execution from planning through final billing.

Partner with operations and event planning colleagues to deliver seamless experiences that exceed client expectations.

Lead pre‑event meetings, group reviews and daily stand‑ups to align execution with client requirements.

Partner with Finance to reconcile billing and resolve client concerns in a timely manner.

Hire, coach and mentor Event Sales and Planning Managers, fostering professional growth and building a strong pipeline of future leaders.

Provide feedback, performance evaluations and training to drive accountability and service excellence.

Lead department meetings and collaborate on hotel‑wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with Hyatt’s purpose, values and behaviors.

Support the Director of Sales, Marketing & Events in strategic planning and departmental leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event management or related field (preferred).

Minimum 3 years’ experience in hotel event sales and/or planning with a track record of exceeding revenue goals.

Demonstrated success in selling to group and social markets, including weddings and milestone events.

Strong leadership experience with team management and mentoring responsibilities.

Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Proficiency in hotel sales systems and Microsoft Office Suite; Hyatt Envision experience preferred.

CMP certification (a plus).

Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends and holidays as business demands.

Geographic mobility for future Hyatt career (preferred).

Benefits and Compensation The starting salary for this role is $70,600. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.
