Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility, which is based in Chicago, IL, 60622
This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Title:
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MLT)
Schedule:
PM (3-11:30PM) - every other weekend Nights (11 PM-7:30AM) - as needed (when staff is on vacation) (40 hrs/week)
Location:
Chicago, IL 60622
Pay Range:
$32.88/hr (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume
Key Responsibilities
Perform and analyze lab tests per SOPs; report and review results
Follow procedures for specimen handling, QC, documentation, and maintenance
Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety regulations
Troubleshoot and document deviations; report critical results per protocol
Maintain lab cleanliness, reagent tracking, and complete testing records
Participate in training, meetings, and inspections as needed
Provide customer service and cross-department communication
Requirements
Certification: MLS/MLT (ASCP or AMT)
Education: BS in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field; foreign grads need IERF evaluation
Experience: 1 year in a high-complexity clinical lab
Skills: Strong computer skills, QC/QA knowledge, multitasking, confidentiality
Must be experienced in Hematology and Chemistry
Must live in the DFW area and travel to assigned locations as needed
