Job Title:
Manager, Payroll & Benefits
Reports to:
Sr. HR Director, Capcom USA, Inc.
Position Summary This role within the HR Department of Capcom USA, Inc. (CUSA) is responsible for managing, implementing, and administering programs and systems associated with payroll, employment, benefits, compensation, communications, and employee morale. The Manager supports the development of these programs and provides quality customer service to HR/Payroll customers. Additionally, the role manages payroll processing, reporting, HR database setup and maintenance, and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Payroll Management (40%)
– Manage semi‑monthly full‑cycle payroll runs for CUSA and Capcom Pictures, Inc. (CPI); administer Paylocity databases and reporting; maintain Fidelity database; track employee time‑off; prepare payroll/benefit accounting reports; ensure compliance with exempt/non‑exempt status, overtime, meal breaks, and JSOX standards.
Benefits Administration (25%)
– Administer internal benefit programs and coordinate with external vendors; administer Capcom benefit vendor websites; evaluate service providers; implement new benefit plans; track eligibility, COBRA, conversion benefits; reconcile vendor invoices; maintain vendor correspondence.
Compensation (10%)
– Evaluate salary adjustment requests; implement annual focal review program; review performance appraisals; use compensation surveys and job descriptions to recommend base compensation; negotiate and record adjustments in HRIS/payroll.
Workforce Planning / Budgeting / Forecasting (25%)
– Update hiring forecasts; communicate with department heads; track actual compensation and benefit costs; prepare monthly forecast reports; compare variances; prepare annual headcount and salary reports.
HR Operations – As Assigned
– Support company events committee; develop recognition programs; assist employees in downsizing or lay‑off situations; prepare related communication materials.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient with payroll cycle operations; Paylocity preferred.
Good understanding of accounting principles.
Proficient with Excel and Word.
Familiarity with accounting systems (SAP, Hyperion Pillar/Essbase).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent with 3–6 years of related experience. • Excellent customer service attitude and communication skills. • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to manage flexible priorities. • Professional interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential information.
Certifications • CPP desirable. • PHR or SPHR certification a plus.
Physical Demands The position occasionally requires lifting up to 25 pounds and repetitive keyboard work about 50 % of the time.
Working Environment Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels.
Salary Range $95,000 – $120,000 (San Francisco Bay Area).
