Quality Assurance Engineer
Pearson is seeking a dedicated
Quality Assurance Engineer
to join our agile delivery team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing functional and exploratory testing, automating QA processes, and partnering with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to embed a culture of quality across the organization. Responsibilities Execute functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing. Collaborate with developers and product owners during refinement to ensure clear, testable acceptance criteria. Identify gaps in current testing practices and actively contribute to establishing consistent QA processes, standards, and documentation. Develop test cases, automate test scripts, and maintain reusable test assets. Support the setup and use of test management tools and frameworks to improve visibility and traceability. Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand?up, sprint reviews, retros) to champion quality and continuous improvement. Assist in building metrics and reporting on quality trends for releases. Perform other duties as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
Required Experience
Associates degree in computer science, information systems, or related field with 4+ years of software testing experience, OR a Bachelors degree with 23 years of experience. Proven ability to lead a small team of QA engineers. Strong understanding of agile delivery frameworks and the Scrum process. Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices. Experience contributing to or helping establish structured QA processes, frameworks, or standards. Experience with test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira). Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across business and technical teams.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with test automation frameworks and scripting (e.g., Selenium, Playwright). Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and their impact on quality assurance. Familiarity with Pearson Psychometric products.
