The Testbed & Simulation Product Line is a fast‑paced, highly dynamic, and growing organization of 120 people that play a vital role in providing mission‑critical intelligence solutions by optimizing satellite constellations, processing data through its entire life cycle and developing reliable cutting‑edge infrastructure for information dissemination across a global network and to 30+ Space programs.
Within these programs, you will participate in the design, development, verification and deployment of complex new software and hardware simulation systems.
Responsibilities
Support the development of FPGA architecture, standards, development and review processes
Develop FPGA cores and images, including high speed interfaces (SerDes, Gigabit Ethernet, etc.)
Create FPGA test scripts using scripting languages and troubleshoot hardware issues
Work with software teams to integrate FPGA with driver and simulation software
Apply system‑level understanding of our simulation products
Review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and develop Concept of Operations (ConOps)
Understand TB&S testbed architecture and develop signal channelization lists, wire diagrams, and top‑level designs
Troubleshoot design equipment
Collaborate across the different TB&S teams and program teams
Effectively communicate and coordinate with software/hardware leads within the Product Line
Perform secondary electronics/electrical engineering duties as required:
Design custom harness and cable designs
Design Custom Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA)
Act as engineering liaison with technicians during fabrication
Write and execute Equipment Functional Checkout Procedures (EFCP)
Basic Qualifications
Experience with Very High Speed Integrated Circuit (VHSIC) Hardware Description Language (VHDL)
VHDL simulators (e.g., QuestaSim, Vivado Simulator, etc.)
Experience with configuration control systems like Git / GitLab
Experience in full life cycle product development
Position located at a facility requiring special access
Desired Skills
High‑speed (≥ 1 Gbit/s) video signal interfaces and integration experience
Gigabit Ethernet design and integration experience
Experience resolving synthesis/implementation issues and timing failures
Experience using scripting languages, such as Python, for FPGA testing on hardware
Experience with communication protocols (MIL‑STD‑1553, TCP/IP, RS‑232, RS‑422, RS‑485, IEEE 488, DMA, PCIE, SRIO, XAUI, SPI, I²C, etc.)
Experience with Tool Common Language (TCL) scripts
Experience programming Xilinx FPGAs with VHDL or Verilog
Experience with Unix/Linux environments
Experience with hardware development life‑cycle: requirements, design, development, integration and test, and maintenance
Experience writing and executing test procedures
Experience with cable/harness design
Broad range of electronic circuit design experience (analog, digital, microcontroller, FPGAs, power supply circuits)
Experience developing software using text‑based languages (Python, C/C++/C#, Visual Basic)
Experience with Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and schematic capture and PWB/PCB layout interface, generating a BOM and working with vendors for fabrication, assembly, and procurement
Experience in hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
Troubleshooting and repair of cable setups, PWB/PCB, CCA, and a variety of electronic equipment
Willingness to learn new environments and work independently in a fast‑paced development environment

Pay and Benefits Pay Range (California, Massachusetts, New York – excluding most major metropolitan areas): $101,000 – $178,135 per year. For other states, the range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
